Gourlay, Ken
Description
Singing and drumming and later shakers/anklets also. It sounds as if they are dancing; poor quality; one song/dance runs into another; at times Gourlay can be heard speaking to people in the compound about whether or not to thank the owner of the compound and the sun being in his eyes; Gourlay says: we are your uninvited guests but we take away all the music [probably talking to owner of compound]. [For detailed notes and cross references see: "A descriptive catalogue of recorded sound" compiled by Ken A Gourlay for the musicology section of the Centre for Nigerian Cultural Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria].
