Comment that they often use words that they have picked up from films and television programmes. Anecdote about not understanding meaning of local word cove (meaning friend) aged three/four. Discussion about nicknames for people from different parts of Lewis, comment that a lot of people share the same names in Lewis so nicknames are often used. The conversation follows a loose structure based on eliciting opinions about accents, dialects, the words we use and people's attitude to language. The four interviewees are all artistic members of the Stornoway community on the Isle of Lewis.
