This recording continues on immediately from the C898-60-01 recording as children from St John's Wood Terrace, London, continue to demonstrate songs and games for Berit Ostberg. The recording begins with a group of schoolgirls performing singing games. They sing: 'Oranges and Lemons' [00:00:00 - 00:00:34]; 'The Farmer's in His Den' [00:01:10 - 00:02:12]; 'Who Stole My Watch and Chain?' [00:02:13 - 00:03:16]; 'The Hoky Koky' [00:03:17 - 00:04:10]; 'Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush' [00:04:11 - 00:05:00]; 'A Prince Came A-Riding' [00:07:30 - 00:07:41]; 'Red Rover' [00:07:48 - 00:08:26]; 'On a Mountain Stands a Lady' [00:08:27 - 00:09:26]; 'Nellie the Elephant' [00:10:54 - 00:11:20]; 'Ring a Ring o'Roses' [00:13:51 - 00:14:27]; 'This Way Valerie' [00:16:45 - 00:17:24] and 'A Hunting We Will Go' [00:17:28 - 00:19:10]. The children also perform a number of clapping songs. They sing: 'Under the Bram Bush' [00:05:01 - 00:05:40]; 'Popeye the Sailor Man' [00:05:41 - 00:06:28]; 'A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea' [00:06:29 - 00:07:29]; 'When Susie Was a Baby' [00:09:27 - 00:10:53]; 'Miss Mary Mack' [00:09:11 - 00:19:43]; 'Under the Bram Bush' [00:19:44 - 00:20:41] and 'I Went to a Chinese Restaurant' [00:20:42 - 00:21:18]. The skipping song 'I'm a Little Girl Guide' [00:12:03 - 00:12:45] can also be heard along with the ball game rhymes 'Please Miss' [00:11:21 - 00:11:38] and 'Please Keep Off the Grass, Sir' [00:11:39 - 00:12:02]. The children also sing the traditIonal nursery rhyme 'Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary' [00:14:28 - 00:15:07] and a chant they call 'Yes, We're Ready For a Fight' [00:13:03 - 00:13:50].
