    Part 1 of 2. [00:00:00 - 00:31:58]. This recording was made by Iona Opie at North Grecian Junior School, Salford, Greater Manchester, on 14th May 1973. Iona discusses with the children their playground games and songs and the schoolchildren perform a number of these for her. The recording begins with a performance of the singing game 'Orange Boys' (also often referred to as Orange Balls) [00:00:10 - 00:01:48]. This is followed by performances of a variety of singing games including: 'Flee, Fly, Flo' [00:01:49 - 00:02:34]; 'Came the Duke a'Riding' [00:04:26 - 00:07:12]; 'Poor Mary is a'Weeping' [00:07:13 - 00:08:59]; 'Lucy Locket Lost her Pocket' [00:09:00 - 00:09:22]; 'Wallflowers' [00:09:23 - 00:10:34]; 'Stands a Lady on a Mountain' [00:10:36 - 00:14:18] and [00:18:10 - 00:20:43]; 'The Tennessee Wig-Walk' [00:15:19 - 00:16:55]; 'In and Out the Sparkling Bluebells' (also referred to as 'In and Out the Dusty Bluebells') [00:16:56 - 00:18:09]; 'A'Hunting We Will Go' [00:20:44 - 00:22:10]; 'Oranges and Lemons' [00:22:17 - 00:23:17]; 'London Bridge is Falling Down' [00:23:18 - 00:26:00]; 'Mrs O'Grady' [00:26:01 - 00:27:34]; 'The Big Ship Sails' [00:27:35 - 00:29:10]; 'If You're Happy and You Know it, Clap Your Hands' [00:29:11 - 00:30:36] and 'Came a Duke, A Duke from Spain' [00:30:37 - 00:31:58]. The clapping game 'A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea' [00:22:11 - 00:22:16] is also performed as is the ball game rhyme 'Nebuchadnezzar King of the Jews' [00:02:36 - 00:04:25].
