Part 13: Background to RK's invitation to design 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' 1962, including working with John Barton [JB] at Sadler's Wells on Carmen; series of anecdotes about JB. Comments on pyschological relationship between director and designer including as example David Jones' response to RK's design for Baal. RK's collaboration with Clifford Williams [CW] including production of 'Wild Oats'; mentions Jeremy Irons. RK's design for 'The Jew of Malta', including research trip to Malta with CW.
