Abstract
Part 7. Mention of Martin Argles. What to do next after Vietnam: Yom Kippur war, Cambodia, New Guinea, Pitcairn Island. Asia remained main area of interest. Felt that Magnum's interest in photo-journalism was declining, studied at National Film School for three years. Still works on film, comments on its differences from photography. A good break which refreshed him to return to photography. Based in Bangkok working on a film which remains unfinished. Work for Geo. To New York in 1980 to become President of Magnum. Did this for five years and is proud of his achievement in updating Magnum, especially technologically and making it financially sounder. Comments on Magnum and its difficulties, differences of opinion over policy and good friendships too.
