  • Description

Item notes: One verse only. Preceded by talk about the singers in the NAAFI when he was stationed in the Middle East in the early 1950s, and about this song which his brother learned while serving in the Faroe Islands (1941-3) and which he has never heard anywhere else. This is a verse of the song "Died for love". Gordon Hall does not realise this until a later recording session (C903/104 C21), when he sings the whole song. Recording notes: Print-through. Recorded at low volume (especially speech) with occasional clicks and interference. Brought up to maximum volume for playback copy (resulting in tape hiss)
